Masai X Amfori

Masai is a member of Amfori and through this membership, we address and work together with our suppliers to secure responsible and fair conditions and human rights for all people involved in making Masai garments as well as enhanced environmental performance throughout the chain.

Amfori is the leading global business association for open and sustainable trade, and members represent more than 2,400 retailers, importers, brands and associations from more than 40 countries. Amfori’s mission is to enable each member to enhance human prosperity, use natural resources responsibly and drive open trade globally. This is achieved through a practical framework (BSCI/social compliance and BEPI/Environmental performance) and various tools to manage the social and environmental performance of supply chains and anticipate future trends.

As a member of Amfori, the BSCI Code of Conduct is an integrated part of the Masai Supplier Manual and Code of Conduct. All Masai suppliers must live up to these social compliance standards and are audited by a third-party auditor at a regular basis to monitor their process and progress. Masai have further started to enroll suppliers into the BEPI system.

Masai is committed to thoughtfulness towards all people engaged in the Masai supply chain and the Masai collections. We, as well as all Masai suppliers, acknowledge and act in accordance with the Masai Code of Conduct, which has been developed on the basis of the BSCI CoC.

In addition to our own production site visits and evaluations by the Masai team, all our suppliers are audited regularly by independent auditors to assure compliance with the CoC and their continued positive development.

As members of Amfori, Masai have access to the BEPI system and tools and we’ve already engaged part of our main suppliers in the BEPI process. This means that we’re playing an active role in assessing, analyzing and driving the potential for environmentally friendly development with our suppliers.
